TANYA IVANOVA·26 ЮЛИ 2017 Г.   5. Pandora`s Box Once up a time, a long time ago, there were two brothers named Epimetheus and Prometheus. They were good gods. They had good hearts. They were good friends. One day, Prometheus got in trouble with Zeus. Angry over something or other, Zeus had declared that man did not deserve fire. Because he had a kind heart, and he knew how much man needed fire for food and warmth, Prometheus gave man the secret of fire even though Zeus had told all the gods not to do that. Zeus was furious that his order had been ignored. As punishment, Zeus chained Prometheus to a rock for many years. But that was not enough punishment, not for Zeus. Once Prometheus was chained to a rock, Zeus went after Prometheus" brother, the gentle, kind-hearted Epimetheus. Zeus did not chain Epimetheus to a rock. Zeus had a more sneaky punishment in mind. First, Zeus ordered the gods" handyman, the maker of things - Hephaestus - to make Zeus a daughter. Hephaestus made a woman out of clay, a beautiful woman. He brought her to life, and then brought her to Zeus. Zeus named his lovely new daughter Pandora. Zeus knew that Epimetheus was lonely. Zeus told Epimetheus that his brother, Hephaestus, had to be punished and that"s why he was chained to a rock, but he felt sorry that this punishment left Epimetheus without the company of his brother. That"s why Zeus had decided to give Pandora in marriage to Epimetheus. It was not the truth of course, but then nearly everyone in the ancient Greek world knew better than to believe the mighty Zeus. Epimetheus was kind-hearted and gentle and thoughtful, but he was no fool. He knew Zeus was up to something. But he loved Pandora at first sight. 6. Zeus gave the newlyweds a gift. Some say it was a jar. Some say it was a box. Whatever it was, it was locked. It came with a note. The note said: "DO NOT OPEN." Attached to the note was a key. It was all very curious. You can guess what happened next. It was Pandora whose curiosity got the better of her. One day, she used the key to open the box. As she raised the lid, out flew all the bad things in the world today - envy, sickness, hate, disease. Pandora slammed the lid closed, but it was too late. Epimetheus heard her weeping. He came running. Pandora opened the lid to show him it was empty. Quickly, before she could slam the lid shut, one tiny bug flew out. He gave Pandora a big buggy smile in thanks for his freedom and flew away. That tiny bug was named Hope. And Hope made all the difference in the world.   7. Some History We all remember the evolutionary theory of Charles Darvin from our school education. For some of us is difficult to accept it, but human anthropology has a lot of proofs that human beings originate from some species of monkeys. As weather changed and the population of this species of monkeys grew there was not enough food supply and this caused the migration of these prehumans in areas with less plants and there was a need for new sources of nourishment. These monkeys began eating larger amount of meat and this lead to a stronger brain development, because carnitives need much more mental power to hunt. So in fact eating meat was forced by the change of climate and the migration of monkeys to the north. Meat consumption increased the development of monkey`s brain and in fact turned monkeys into humans. But… 8. Let us come back to Presence Humans have reached high levels of scientifical development. We aim space, we have a technologies which are almost replacing human brain, we do wonders with our medicine, but… With the increasing of human life expectancy increase the number of deceases. People invest whole fortunes in keeping themselves alive, health costs the consumption of large amounts of tablets, which are supposed to keep us functioning, but there is still no proof that these medicines prolong our life, or just cause death from other deceases. For example: A lot of young women are diagnosed with thyroid hypofunction for different reasons. To them is prescribed L-Thyroxin. This medicine keeps them functioning, but it depresses the function of the thyroid gland and women should take L-Thyroxin regularly, because the organism needs the thyroid hormone. As time passes on L-Thyroxin can cause tachyarrhythmia(irregular quicker heart action). To their medication doctors do not usually reduce L-Thyroxin intake, but give pulse rate reducing medicines like beta-blockers, or calcium antagonists. For their side effects you can inform yourselves on your own (read the information leaflet). 9. The Theory of Autoimmunity I would try to explain this completely new scientifical issue quite simple. Let me give you firstly a quick definition of Immune system: a diffuse, complex network of interacting cells, cell products, and cell-forming tissues that protects the body from pathogens and other foreign substances, destroys infected and malignant cells, and removes cellular debris: the system includes the thymus, spleen, lymph nodes and lymph tissue, stem cells, white blood cells, antibodies, and lymphokines. Human immune system reacts to each protein that consists of more than 20 Alfa-amino-acids and different from human proteins. When the proteins enter the gastrointestinal tract most of them are digested and in the form of aminoacids can enter the blood stream and be used in the organism as building units. If the intestinal membrane is not intact, which happens often through chemical or mechanical injuries the foreign protein can enter through the intestine wall into the interstitium and into the lymph stream where it can affect the immune system and cause an immune reaction through producing antibodies against it. It is a normal reaction of the organism to produce antibodies against foreign proteins. Let us imagine the foreign protein is very similar in structure to a human protein, which can be found on the membrane or in the citoplasm of a human cell. Then the antibodies of the human organism react falsely with the cell membrane protein and induces cellular death through the immune reaction. This assumption may lead to the explanation of all autoimmune deceases and some degenerative deceases like atherosclerosis and diabetes, Alzheimer, Parkinson, dementia, psychical disorders, obesity and many others. 10. So is that the Pandora`s Box? Many deceases affect not only humans but also some animal species. This leads to the conclusion that there are similar proteins on the cell membranes and in the cytoplasm in humans and animals. Digesting similar to our proteins may lead to an autoimmune reaction against our proteins and degeneration of some tissues like blood endothelium, respiratory endothelium cells, pancreas Langerhans cells, the cells of the nephrons, or even the death or destruction of brain cells, causing great number of deceases. An Example for the autoimmune Theory is Diabetes Mellitus Typ 1 Diabetes mellitus type 1 has long been known medical disease. But lethality of diabetes begins only when people begin to therapy it. Why? It has long been known that diabetes type 1 is caused by an immune response to beta cells of the islets of Langerhans (of the same which go on vacation). 1. It is known that the immune system responds only to proteins, i.e., Why not to the protein of insulin? 2. It is known that porcine insulin differs by only 2 amino acids from human. I.e. why not exogenously induced immune response (e.g. alimentarian automimmune reaction)? The porcine insulin in the food gets into the gastro-intestinal tract, thence through erosions of the gastrointestinal tract gets into the lymphatic system, where antibodies against it are built. These antibodies react against porcin insulin and against human insulin (because they are common in structure). Thus they destroy the beta-cells of the islets of Langerhans by an immune reaction type B. It leads to the conclusion that Type 1 diabetes is caused by autoimmunity against insulin. In conclusion: bovine and porcine insulin are too common with human insulin. They are foreign protein molecules and cause immune reaction, The antibodies built against them react also to human insulin and cause the destruction of Beta-cells in pancreas, inducing diabetes type I. 11. Another example of the logic of autoimmune theory is Diabetes mellitus Type II Bovine and porcine receptors to insulin are also common with human receptors. Consuming big amounts of them, found in the muscle tissue of animals, causes the production of human antibodies against them. These antibodies connect themselves with human insulin receptors in human organism, that causes insulin resistence in human tissues, on back-forth connection mechanism this causes increasing of insulin levels in blood. This causes constant hunger and increasing of food consumption, thus obesity and metabolic syndrome. In this vicious circle soon the capacity of human Langerhans cells to produce insulin is exhausted and this leads to diabetes type II. So perhaps in Pandora`s box was nothing more than … some delicious porc steaks?
